Who we are
A group of parent volunteers, each serving a term of three or more years, who are dedicated to working within our wonderful school community via initiatives, fundraising, leadership, and facilitating communication between the parents and the administration.

our goals
Support
Promote understanding, communication, and cooperation among parents, school administrators, and teachers. Support cultural, artistic, social, recreational, athletic, and fundraising activities that strengthen and benefit the Rochambeau community.
Represent
Maintain an ongoing dialogue between parents, the school administration, and teachers. Represent parents’ views and concerns before the school’s consultative bodies and administration.
Motivate
Encourage parents to take an active role in school life and support initiatives that strengthen the Rochambeau community.
Communicate
Provide a forum for parents to discuss issues related to their children’s development and other matters of shared interest. Foster open, clear, and effective communication among parents and with the broader school community.

Activities and Results
Cooperation and Dialogue
PAR represents school families and promotes a strong cooperation between Rochambeau’s parents, management, and teachers by maintaining a constant dialogue with the diverse parties of the school to include:
Monthly meetings with school administration
Quarterly Listening Sessions
Representation at the Conseil d’Etablissement
Representation at the Conseil d’Ecole
Services offered to families and parents
PAR works to provide services that enhance the supports offered to our Rochambeau community. PAR projects and programs include partnerships to support health and wellness, such as a 10% discount with the YMCA.
Institutional development
Thanks to regular consultation and meetings with school management and administration, PAR works on themes important to parents as well as on all questions related to the school. We are always seeking more involvement of parents in the life of the school through the transmission of information and the organization of regular meetings. To deal more effectively with the various aspects of school life, PAR is organized into committees.
Support for the development of the Rochambeau community
PAR leads committees and organizes events allowing parents to volunteer and meet other parents and our school staff. PAR organizes a back-to-school breakfast to welcome new parents and a King’s Cake (Galette des Rois) celebration in January. The PAR team also supports the school in the organization of events such as the International Food Festival, Spring Fair, and the annual Gala, and supports the organization of conferences. We also lead fundraising initiatives throughout the year.
